Yeah Sure Whatever 101
An introductory course to whatever this thing is - pay attention because this will be on the final exam!
This is my second attempt.
I drafted a different first post for this newsletter but after finishing it, I had determined that it was far too vulnerable. Who am I to project my existential dread onto the three people who will read this? It’s supposed to be a humor newsletter after all. I’ll keep it saved in my drafts for now, maybe one day I will post it, but it will certainly not be posted today!
It’s syllabus week!
Okay class, who can tell me what a newsletter is in this modern era? Is it a letter where you receive news detailed in succinct summaries for the common man to be updated on world events? NO! That’s right, it’s actually a funky set of semi-coherent paragraphs that I will be sending to your phones on a weekly basis. You may say, “is that really what a newsletter is?” And I will say YES! At least, that’s what this newsletter will be.
I’ve known for a while that I wanted to start writing a funny little newsletter. Ideally once or twice a week, writing and sending out some thoughts to your inbox. There were a lot of things stopping me (all of them in my head), but one thing I was very unsure of was the title. What do I call this thing? It’s the first thing people will see, it needs to be perfect! Or at least, good enough. After brainstorming for a while, I decided on Yeah Sure Whatever.
It is a phrase I use often, usually accompanied by a heavy eyeroll. A lot of things annoy me or interest me but at the end of the day I know that I have little to no power over them. But, that doesn’t mean I’m not going to talk about them! So like - yeah, sure, whatever! It comes out of my mouth so easily like saying “Hello” and “How are you?” and “Bacon, egg, and cheese on a onion bagel, thank you”. I probably rolled my eyes before I spoke my first word it is so ingrained in my muscle memory.
I don’t see this newsletter being defined by any particular subject or interest. Ultimately I just want to write some funny things and share them with other people who will also find these things funny. And that can be well, whatever! I think it perfectly encapsulates the vibe I’m going for, so I’m pretty happy with it! If you don’t like it, don’t tell me, I don’t need to know!

I am very much looking forward to writing about things I find funny! They may be topical, discussing the latest in pop culture, or a niche topic I have interest in. The goal is to stay in the practice of writing and to make it fun to read! If you’re looking for perfect grammar or heavily researched topics then this newsletter isn’t for you and I wish you well on your journey towards enlightenment. But I do hope you stay with me and we can laugh about silly things together!
